Pipeline Optimization for an Economical Microsprinkler Irrigation System Based on a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm

The pipeline combination scheme is optimized to reduce the cost of irrigation units in an economical microsprinkler system. With standard number segments branch and capillary pipes as decision variables, lowest pipe per unit area objective function, maximum pressure difference allowed system, minimum network, shape constraints, a hybrid genetic algorithm used calculate corresponding optimal pipelines. results show that when rectangular plot 30 m × 22 m, area, 5192.7 RMB/hm2, achieved are laid bidirectionally along length plot. bidirectional laying less than unidirectional laying, direction saves 2.3% compared with width most extended on one side 103.65 m.
